The Summer blockbuster season is coming to an end and FWOAC wants to make sure that these films don't go into the Fall without some recognition.

At the end of the month, FWOAC will be giving out the AC Awards (named after the air conditioning that makes even the worst movie tolerable in the Summer heat).

Because we're lazy, we're reaching out to the FWOAC FLOCK to help us come up with the categories and nominees.
We're thinking of the type of categories you wouldn't see in your typical stodgy award show--instead of BEST ACTOR/ESS, think FAVORITE HERO.

One award we know is a lock is FAVORITE BLOCKBUSTER.

So leave your ideas for categories, movies you think could fit in those categories, and your pick for FAVORITE BLOCKBUSTER in the comments section below!

  1. Best Sleeper Hit- Moonrise Kingdom and Beasts of the Southern Wild
Best Comedy- 21 Jump Street, The Dictator, Ted, The Campaign
Best Adaptation- Dark Shadows, Battleship, Abraham Lincoln Vampire Hunter, Total Recall
Best Superhero- Avengers, Amazing Spiderman, Dark Knight Rises
Best Female Role model- Katniss Everdine (Hunger Games), Gwen Stacy (spiderman), Dejah Thoris (John Carter), Merida (Brave)
Best Animated Film- The Pirates! Band of Misfits, Brave, Ice Age
Best Sequel/Prequel- Men in Black 3, Prometheus, Ice Age 4
Best Villain- Snow White, Avengers, DKR, MIB3
Best Action Film- The Raid Redemption, Avengers, DKR, Bourne Legacy
Best Supernatural- Abraham Lincoln Vampire Hunter, The Cabin in the Woods, Dark Shadows
Best Fanservice- Magic Mike, Rock of Ages, Katy Perry, Snow White
    Favorite Blockbuster- The Avengers

  2. Percy, I agree with all of your categories.
I'd add Safety Not Guaranteed as another contender in the Best Sleeper Hit category (didn't seem to hit enough theaters before it disappeared, but it at least made its box office back).

    Another category
Biggest Letdown (critically or financially): Prometheus, Dark Knight Rises, Battleship, John Carter, Total Recall, The Watch.

Favorite blockbuster: The Avengers, hands down.
